Venice, Italy - ''The floating city''


The UNESCO World Heritage property comprises the city of Venice and its lagoon situated in the Veneto Region of Northeast Italy. Founded in the 5th century AD and spread over 118 small islands, Venice became a major maritime power in the 10th century. The whole city is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece in which even the smallest building contains works by some of the world's greatest artists such as Giorgione, Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese and others.

Piazza San Marco


Piazza San Marco or St. Mark’s Square constructed in the 9th century, it is the center, the heart of the amazing floating city. It is named after the outstanding Basilica of the same name that you can see at the east of the square. The slender Campanile di San Marco, the Basilica's bell tower, is one of the most recognizable landmarks. From here you can easily visit most of the other main sites. The best things you can do? Feed or run though hundreds of pigeons, take panorama pictures, and just enjoy the beautiful view!

Rialto Bridge


Crossing over the Grand Canal, the Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge) which is build in he late years of the 16th century is Venices' most popular bridge. From this spot you can watch gondolas and ferries travel up and down the Grand Canal. While at the top of the bridge , enjoy the fabulous, mesmerizing view of this iconic city. Sunset or sunrise, or both! It is your choice and I promise you won't get disappointed. It is a bit crowded place but just smile take a selfie and enjoy, you are in Venice!




The Bridge of Sighs


One of the most famous bridges in the whole wide world - Ponte dei Sospiri or The Bridge of Sighs. Legend says that prisoners who crossed the bridge on the way to their prison cells or to be executed would sigh as they caught their last glimpses of this city throughout those tiny windows. Also, the romantic poet Lord Byron referenced the bridge in his book "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage": "I stood in Venice, on the Bridge of Sighs; a palace and a prison on each hand" - and that is how it become more famous.

How romantic does it sounds. It is also said that if a couple kisses as they pass with gondola under the bridge at sunset, as the bells toll, their love will last forever!
